Perfume Particular finesse on the nose, harmony and complexity, olfactory sensations of ripe small fruits and violets, typical of Nebbiolo, with sweet spicy hints.
Taste Enveloping tannin, great elegance and excellent length on the palate.
History Completing the production range is another great expression of the Nebbiolo grape variety: like the other Casa Cogno wines, Barbaresco is elegant and structured, but with a great autonomy of character. Not a Barbaresco that wants to imitate its cousin Barolo, but a wine that sees its full and strong identity respected, in the vineyard and in the cellar. This is the countertrend bet of a Barolo producer who has approached Barbaresco, when he usually keeps his distance, seeing the opportunity to measure himself and confront himself with a historic wine, which is also the maximum manifestation of the Langa territory. This wine was born from the precious collaboration with a friend and producer from Neive, who allowed the Cogno family to embark on this new, small adventure.
Pairings Fresh pasta with light sauces or better Langhe white truffle, rabbit stew and roasted white meat, veil raw tartare, soft cheeses.

The Cogno Winery was formed in the footsteps of master wine maker Elvio and continues to produce wines that respect the history of the family today. They maintain, unaltered, traditions and styles that express the flavor and grape varieties of the Langhe.

The Cogno Winery produces the principle wines of the Langhe. The winery owns about fifteen hectares of vineyard property in Novello, one of eleven townships in the province of Cuneo in which Barolo DOCG production is allowed.
The hills are world-renowned for their history, culture, and beauty, and they were recently recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage.

In the footsteps of its founder Elvio Cogno, today Nadia Cogno and Valter Fissore direct the winery with four generations of winemakers and vine growers, dedicated to obtaining excellence that begins with the unique terroir to create wines that are famous throughout the world for their elegance, texture, and balance.
