Description
Since the 1970s, the Cerchi family has been cultivating and producing quality wine on its land in Ussini, in the province of Sassari, in northwest Sardinia. The Cherchi Tuvaoes Vermentino is one of the most renowned products created by this renowned winery, one of its great classics. The Vermentino grapes, which make up 60% of these vineyards, are grown on the hills of Logudoro, approximately 200 meters above sea level. And the nearby sea is an important ally in this production: the sea breeze, in fact, reaches here, giving these grapes the characteristic aromas and fragrances of this arid and beautiful land. The climate of the area is rather windy and often characterized by significant temperature variations. Water, wind, and clayey soil create a magical hillside microclimate and, in addition to an excellent product, ensure the grapes remain healthy, without the need for chemicals. These grapes are characterized by moderately sparse bunches with a normal pH and fairly large size. The grapes are expertly selected and harvested between September 10th and 20th, and the vinification process of the Cherchi Tuvaoes Vermentino takes place directly on site, in an evocative cellar carved into the rock. The cellar has an outdoor section and an underground section, where the Vermentino is stored, which over the years has won numerous awards, including the Tre Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso.

Despite the success achieved, we remain true to our roots and consider ourselves first and foremost winegrowers; protagonists of each production phase, from the vineyard to the bottle, and custodians of this farming, cultural and human heritage. Today, we still safeguard and promote the environment in which our wines have originated: an intertwining of fragrances and sensations of wind and sun, of land and people. Read more
