Description
A still red from Tuscany IGT, 14.5% ABV, produced by Banfi. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, and Syrah that best expresses the terroir of Montalcino. 2022 vintage, 0.75 liter bottle. Founded in 1978 by the Mariani brothers, Banfi is synonymous with passion and innovation. The four varietals are vinified separately in combined Horizon steel and wood vats at a controlled temperature, with a two-day cold pre-fermentation maceration. This is followed by maceration at 22 degrees C until the final two days of alcoholic fermentation, when the temperature is raised to 27 degrees C. Aged for six months in barrique and six months in bottle. Complex with notes of blackberry, plum jam, cherry in alcohol, and hints of licorice, black olive, and tobacco. Powerful body, with dense, ample, and soft tannins thanks to the excellent maturation in the vineyard and cellar.
