At an average altitude of 370 metres above sea level. The vineyards are between 5 and 30 years old. In addition to the vineyards, there are about 12 hectares of olive groves and 15 hectares of mixed cultivation. The rest is forest. Castellare di Castellina was created in 1968 from the merger of five estates. The yields per hectare at Castellare are very low, well below the maximum allowed by the Chianti Classico DOCG regulations.
