Description

The first Bolgheri wine to be born on the hill of Torre di Donoratico, in one of the highest vineyards of this extraordinary denomination. Torre alle Comete is born from the extraordinary new vineyards at the foot of the Torre di Donoratico at 230 m above sea level, in one of the highest positions in the denomination. From the vineyard there is a breathtaking panorama that embraces most of the Etruscan coast from Livorno to the island of Elba, with a privileged viewpoint of the island of Gorgona. Already in 2018, the Campo alle Comete winery pioneered the discovery of this new sub-zone within the Bolgheri DOC.

The company, located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci in the heart of the distribution of Bolgheri, has 16 hectares of vineyards, a historic villa and a charming cellar, inspired by the circular floor plan of the Etruscan tombs.

The name Campo to Comets comes from a historical name of the area where the company is based, that "disappeared" over time.

The first signtature wine from Campo alle Comete is 'Stupore', a Bolgheri DOC, from 2015's harvest. The name was chosen to reflect tradition and experience but also poetry and imagination and to amaze, with memorable flavours and tastes.

Campo alle Comete Rosastella 2021 was awarded 92 points by Wine Enthusiast, and is also among the six rosés of the year.
