Description

Type of wine

The Bisol 1542 Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Crede Brut is a fresh and linear sparkling wine from Veneto. This wine, a harmonious blend of Glera and Chardonnay, presents a straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights, brought to life by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it offers a fragrant bouquet, defined by clear hints of meadow flowers, green apple, pear, and delicate citrus nuances. On the palate, it expresses marked gustatory precision, supported by balanced acidity and fine sapidity, closing with a clean mineral finish that makes it extremely versatile at the table.

Origin

This wine originates from the hills of Valdobbiadene, from vineyards with a predominantly south and south-east exposure. Its name recalls the local dialect term for clay, the element that dominates the soils of marine origin precisely called “crede”. The morphology of the terrain features steep vertical stratifications that ensure a constant water supply to the roots of the vines, which are trained using the double arched cane (doppio capovolto) system. This peculiar geological conformation favours the development of delicate floral nuances and guarantees a precise acidic structure, reflecting the profound expertise of Bisol 1542, which is historically rooted in these lands.

Production method

The manual harvest ensures the perfect integrity of the bunches. Subsequently, the secondary fermentation takes place using the Charmat method in an autoclave, a technique aimed at preserving the aromatic freshness and clarity of the original fruit. The delicate processing leads to a rigorous Brut dosage, defining a dynamic flavour profile. To fully appreciate its linearity and the intact expression of the terroir, tasting while young is recommended, so as to capture its maximum fragrance.

History and trivia

The result of the experience of Bisol 1542, winegrowers for twenty-one generations, Crede takes its name from the dialect term for clay. These ancient marine soils with vertical stratifications retain water at the roots. It is renowned for being the first Brut of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG appellation, awarded 90 points by James Suckling. With an international character, it stands out for releasing approximately one million bubbles per glass.

"My grandfather Desiderio and my father Antonio were always on the lookout for the best plots to purchase. Those were the steepest ones, and as such the hardest to cultivate, but their gradient and soil composition made them perfect for growing Glera grapes. It shows how long-sighted they were, and how important the quality of the final product was for them". (Gianluca Bisol)
