From this winery
Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on the farm L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert, who passed away in 2001, the farm was taken over by his brother Johann Rupert in 2003. It was Johann Rupert who constructed a state-of-the-art winemaking facility on the estate, and the beginnings of what was to become a sprawling enterprise with a focus on terroir specific wines. Harvest The grapes are harvested by hand, placed in small crates and transported to the winery by refrigerated trucks.
Wine making In the winery, the whole grapes are sorted using an optical sorter and then gravity fed into wooden fermenters. Each batch is cold-soaked for a few days and then slowly brought to temperature. Fermentation takes place naturally in the wooden vats.
Aging The wines were aged for 24 months in 80% new French oak. After bottling, the wine is aged in the bottle for a further 24 months.
