Description
The Riesling grape variety was introduced to South Tyrol in the mid-19th century by Archduke Johann of Habsburg, who identified the ideal growing conditions around Margreid for planting it. Today, especially due to the climatic warming of recent years, it is preferred to be cultivated above an altitude of 900 metres. The Rain di Penone vineyard, thanks to its steep slope, its south-southeast orientation and the moraine deposits on which it stands, is an optimal terroir for this grape variety.
