Voltumna

Voltumna is an agricultural cooperative based in Mugello - Dicomano - at an altitude of 300 m in the Tuscan Apennines.

We, the producers of the Voltumna winery, have always liked to drink immoderately, so that over time we have wondered whether it was alcohol or all the chemicals used in raising vines and turning grapes into wine that was more harmful to our health.

Unashamedly biased, we decided that the alcohol that is bad for us is always that amount more than we like to imbibe from time to time, from party to party, from dinner with friends to dinner with friends...

All that remains for us to do is to declare that part of the evils of drinking as well as eating come from the various pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers used in agriculture... They come from the industrial processes of transformation, conservation, distribution of agricultural products... They come from when, how and why we eat and drink. The solution that suits us at the Voltumna farm is that we produce biodynamically and make wine as naturally as possible. We want to drink well, and for others to drink well too.
