Oenologist and agricultural engineer trained in Bordeaux in 2006, I run a family estate of nearly 9 hectares located in Meurville in the Côte des Bar. My clay-limestone soils come from the Upper Jurassic.
The majority are on hillsides - the Kimmeridgian, which is also found in Chablis - but the particularity of the Meurville vintage, in addition to the thinness of the soil in general, lies in the presence on the plateau overlooking the village of Portlandien pure (an almost exclusive Champagne) offering even poorer soils.
On such supports where the vine must naturally suffer to ensure its growth, the viticulture practiced makes it possible to obtain fruits and juices of a remarkable typicity.
