Features wine	The wine that comes from the malbec has a variable polyphenolic intensity, generally has hints of honey, tannic and not fresh, but of good quality. Usually it is used in conjunction with Merlot, Gamay and Cabernet, more rarely in purity.
Growing areas	Cultivated in Veneto and Friuli, and marginally in other Italian regions. Very often Malbech is confused with Merlo's particular clonal selections.
History	The Malbech vine is of French origin, very popular in Bordeaux. It appears that his name derives from the name of the owner who first implanted it in the Medoc. Malbech appears to have come to Italy around the mid-1800s, but only in 1881 the Conte Provana of Collegno (Turin) illustrated Malbech at the ampelographic display of Pinerolo.
