Description
What kind of wine it is
The Champagne Grand Cru Les Crayeres Brut Nature Pinot Noir by Marguet is a Blanc de Noirs made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes. Crafted according to the strict principles of the Traditional Method, this wine displays a bright straw yellow colour in the glass, crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals delicate fruity aromas intertwined with fragrant notes of yeast. The absence of dosage results in a fresh palate, perfectly balanced and with a long persistence. Served at 6-8 °C, it is ideal with fish, shellfish, starters and cheeses, boasting excellent ageing potential.
Where it comes from
Champagne Marguet originates from the prestigious Champagne area classified as Grand Cru. The vineyards, situated at an altitude between 85 and 130 metres above sea level, benefit from both northern and southern exposure, ensuring balanced ripening of the grapes. The vine roots, with an average age of forty years, delve into a deep clay-limestone soil resting on a layer of pure Campanian white chalk. This geological formation ensures excellent drainage, giving the Pinot Noir gustatory tension and structural definition.
How it is produced
The estate adopts organic and biodynamic production, aimed at preserving the vitality of the vineyard. The soil is worked exclusively with the help of horses, while the health of the plants is supported through phytotherapy and aromatherapy treatments. The transformation of the grapes follows the rules of the Traditional Method, with meticulous refermentation in the bottle that develops the wine's elegance. Offered in the Brut Nature version, no sugars are added after disgorgement. This stylistic choice results in a sip with a dry and linear character, capable of enhancing the natural freshness and maintaining overall balance through to the long finish.
