Description
What kind of wine it is
Sapience is a refined Blanc de Noirs by Marguet, a true expression of Champagne. This blend combines Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes. In the glass, it displays a straw yellow colour with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it opens with clear fruity aromas linked to hints of yeast and bread crust. On the palate, it is rich, defining a dry, structured and deep Brut Nature style.
Where it comes from
The roots of this wine lie in the communes of Ambonnay and Bouzy, in parcels classified as Premier Cru. In this particular terroir, Marguet adopts strict biodynamic and organic farming. The exclusive use of black grape varieties enhances the identity of the soil, ensuring a pure expression of the territory in the glass.
How it is produced
The production strictly follows the Traditional Method, with a prolonged ageing on the lees that ensures great depth of flavour. The absence of added sugars defines its Pas Dosé character, highlighting a taut and vertical zero dosage. Its complex structure makes it ideal to pair with shellfish dishes, sushi and mature cheeses.
History and Curiosities
The 2017 vintage of Sapience, an exceptional Champagne 1er Cru from Marguet, celebrates the biodynamic harmony of the noble vineyards of Ambonnay. This Blanc de Noirs, the result of perfect synergy between Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, matures on the lees for over six years, acquiring a fine perlage and intense fruity aromas. Crafted according to the classic pas dosé method, it stands out for its rich and structured palate, free from added sugars. An authentic natural alchemy with organic certification, ideal for elegantly enhancing mature cheeses and refined seafood creations.
