Description
What kind of wine it is
Brancaia Rosé is a still organic rosé wine made from Merlot grapes grown in the heart of Tuscany. It appears a delicate, bright pink in the glass, introducing a pleasantly fruity aromatic profile. The bouquet ranges from wild strawberries to lilac, intertwined with hints of pomegranate, white peach, apple and lemon. On the palate, it reveals a good structure, with a delicate, subtle and refreshing sip. The lively finish makes it an excellent choice for an aperitif or a light dinner. It pairs harmoniously with shellfish and lean fish, and elegantly accompanies salads, white meats and fresh cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from selected vineyards located between Radda in Chianti and the Maremma. The vines benefit from a west and south-west exposure at a moderate altitude, with roots in mainly sandy soils with silt and clay components. The terroir is distinguished by a Mediterranean climate, characterised by hot summers, mild winters and a significant diurnal temperature range. The constant influence of a gentle sea breeze helps preserve the freshness and vibrancy of the grapes. The Widmer family leads Brancaia with an approach focused on balance and a deep respect for nature.
How it is produced
The vinification of the Merlot involves a very brief contact with the skins, an essential step to extract the delicate pink hue and maintain the lightness of the sip. The must ferments at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks, preserving the delicate primary aromas. The process continues with a three-month rest on the fine lees in the same containers, allowing the wine to gain body and roundness. The process concludes with a targeted maturation in the bottle for several months, necessary to stabilise and harmonise the flavour profile.
