Description
Auchentoshan Springwood, from Gaelic: "corner of the field". The distillery that produces it is Auchentoshan, located near Glasgow and founded in 1800. Their unique feature is the triple distillation process, honoring the historic processes with which it has been produced for many years, to obtain a spirit with character, reminiscent of Irish Scotch, but with a lightness all its own, particular and unique. Auchentoshan Springwood, initially produced for the Travel Retail range, in a size suitable for transport, was later also sold in larger containers, like this bottle. It's a single-malt, meaning it's made from a single type of malt: after triple distillation, it matures in ex-bourbon American oak barrels. These play a fundamental role in giving this product its aromatic finish: the name itself, Springwood, recalls the importance of wood in the creation of Auchentoshan. The purity of the malt, the triple distillation, and the aging in wood give this whisky a light and refreshing flavor, whose persistence on the palate recalls the words with which it is defined by the distillery: "subtle whisky, with an endless persistence of malt".

We're not triple distilled because it's tradition. But because that's what it takes to create a delicate flavour unlike any other. Smooth, yet gutsy. Approachable yet deep.
