Story | After a few years of experimentation on the vines to achieve a high-quality wine with the 2012 vintage, this Rosso di Montalcino was born, which complements the production of the other two estate wines: Brunello Pian delle Vigne and Riserva Vignaferrovia. The Pian delle Vigne estate is located 6 km south of Montalcino, above the Val d'Orcia and takes its name from a characteristic 19th-century railway station located within the estate. The estate consists of about 184 hectares, of which about 65 are planted with vines. |
Origin | Tenuta Pian delle Vigne is located 6 km south of Montalcino, above the Val d'Orcia. |
Climate | Altitude: 130-200 m. a.s.l. Exposure: South-East. |
Wine making | The precise characteristics of the soil of the vineyards help in obtaining ripe sensations in the wines and a good freshness and crispness as well. The must, after a soft pressing, fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures for eight to ten days in order to better conserve the aroma. |
Aging | The wine, after the fermentation and the subsequent malolactic fermentation, aged for twelve months in large oak casks. |
Allergens | Contains sulphites |
