Chateau de Stony

Since 1983, Frédéric Nodet has been making wine at Château de Stony, a Languedoc farm he inherited from his ancestor Hippolyte Chavasse.

His views of wine making began to change in early 2005 after reading about organic viticulture and having discussions with organic wine makers, including Lydie, his wife and co-worker.

Gradually, Frédéric became more aware of his stewardship to the land, especially his responsibility to protect the fertility of the soil. By 2011, all twelve hectares of his vineyards had been converted to organic farming and in 2014 his wines were first certified as organic.
