Description

Still white wine from Burgundy, 13.5% ABV, produced by Vincent Girardin. Chardonnay blend, 0.75L bottle, 2022 vintage. A Meursault Les Narvaux that embodies the elegance and sophistication of great Burgundy whites. The vineyards are located in the municipality of Meursault, in a cool, stony terroir, with an eastern exposure that gives the grapes a good acidity. Manual harvesting, sorting on the vine and then in tanks, and finally pressing for slow extraction. Aged in 228-liter French oak barrels (15% new), where alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place with native yeasts and bacteria. The result is a flattering, well-balanced wine with aromas of white flowers, a nose of almonds, and a long finish.

From this winery
Vincent Girardin, born with a passion for wine.

The history of Maison Vincent Girardin is relatively recent. In 1980, at the age of 19, Vincent Girardin, the son of a family of winegrowers based in Santenay since the 17th century, decided to strike out on his own, and began producing wine from two hectares of vines that he had inherited from his parents.

From his earliest youth Vincent had a passion for working with vines, and great respect for the potential that they represent; his ambition was to produce his own wine.

The quality of his wines was quickly recognized by connoisseurs all over the world, and this enabled him to expand his activity, focusing primarily on the great white and red wines of the Côte de Beaune.

A collection of Burgundy wines by Vincent Girardin with the same standard of excellence.

Origin The vineyards are located in the commune of Meursault
Climate Cool, sloping and stony climate (lots of limestone and chalk) and a very seductive Murisaltian nature. The eastern exposure gives the grapes a good acidity content.
Soil composition At the base of the hill, clay-limestone soils mixed with "chaillots" (flinty limestone residues). They are loose, rich in phosphorus and potash. In the middle of the hill, stony limestone soils are suitable for Chardonnay.
Cultivation system The vines are pruned using the Guyot (Poussard) method with several interventions during the green season. (Pruning, staking, topping).
Harvest Manual harvest.
Wine making Harvested by hand, sorted on the vine and then in vats and finally pressed (pneumatic press) to obtain a slow extraction.
Aging Bottling after gentle decanting.
