Description

Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze Ruggeri is a semi-aromatic white sparkling wine of the highest class. Its premium grapes, 100% from the Glera grape variety (formerly known as Prosecco), are grown in the Cartizze area of the same name. The area, located in the eastern heart of the Veneto region, represents a Cru of excellence. Produced by the historic Cantina Ruggeri and known throughout the world, this prestigious Prosecco embodies a true symbol of Made in Italy sparkling wines. The vineyards dedicated to its production are located in the narrow hilly area between San Pietro di Barbozza, Santo Stefano and Saccol, the hamlets best known for the quality of their grapes and which represent the most important areas of the DOCG Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze certification. Favorable climatic conditions and soils rich in limestone, sandstone and various types of clay enrich this dry white sparkling wine with flavor and aromas. After the harvest in September, the Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze wine is subjected to white vinification, therefore without the use of the skins and at a temperature of 18° C. It is then subjected to traditional fermentation at a controlled temperature. The second fermentation takes place using the charmant method, which is based on the use of pressure tanks in which the wine is refermented for a long period at a temperature of 12° C.

Five generations of the Bisol family have shaped the development of a business that has a deep understanding of the future.

Ruggeri’s roots stretch far back to the nineteenth century, to Eliseo Bisol, who, along with his son Luigi was one of the first winemakers in Valdobbiadene. The business’s significant growth began in 1950 when Giustino Bisol founded the current winery with his cousin, and it was his surname, Ruggeri, that was chosen as the company name. The unswerving commitment to excellence continued with the work of Giustino’s son, Paolo, and granddaughter Isabella.

Since 2017, Ruggeri has been part of the Rotkäppchen-Mumm Group, a highly fruitful partnership which has paired our shared visions, trust in common values and a mutual commitment to ever higher quality standards.
