Description
Austrian still red, 12.5% ABV, produced by Kroiss in Burgenland. 2015 vintage, 0.75L bottle. A Sankt Laurent that speaks of a family's passion for viticulture, aged for 12 months in large wooden barrels. The wine-growing community of Illmitz is located on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, in Austria's sunny Burgenland, characterized by countless lakes and endless plains. The nose opens with fruity notes of sour cherry, followed by hints of spice and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is smooth, balanced, and harmonious, a wine that invites conviviality.

Pairings
The winery has been family-run since 1926 and is now in its 4th generation with Norbert Kroiss. His father Michael Kroiss is always at his side with words and deeds and is an indispensable force in the winery.
In 1926 the great-grandfather started with a small wine production and since then the company has grown steadily. Currently, about 35 hours of vineyards are cultivated. The vineyard areas are planted with approx. 40% white wine and approx. 60% red wine vines.
By careful processing and selection of the best grapes we try to produce fruity white wines and rich red wines at the highest level.
We pay great attention to typical Austrian grape varieties such as Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Grüner Veltliner or Welschriesling. International varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir or Chardonnay are also ideal for this area. Read more
