The Collio, in the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, is a land with a deep-rooted vocation for viticulture. The two prestigious companies Marco Felluga and Russiz Superiore tell the story of a family that, for six generations, has been passing on and cultivating its passion for wine. The family’s history can be traced to more than 150 years ago, in the second half of 1800, in Istria, a land which is now shared between Slovenia and Croatia.

This path was significantly taken forward by Marco Felluga, a pioneer of modern viticulture. It was then continued with love and entrepreneurship by Roberto and Ilaria Felluga, supporters of sustainable and high-quality winemaking.

Story Friulano is one of the oldest indigenous varieties of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, whose presence has been attested here since the 11th century.
Origin Towns of Farra d’Isonzo and San Floriano (Gorizia) in the Collio DOC region.
Climate Altitude: 80-250 m a.s.l.
Soil composition Hilly, formed during the Eocene epoch with an alternation of marls and sandstones. its impermeability causes surface water run-off with consequent soil erodibility, leading to a very gentle morphology.

Harvest By hand.
Wine making After harvesting the grapes are separated from the stalks. The must and pulp undergo a cold maceration on the skins followed by a light pressing to separate the skins. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel temperature-controlled tanks.
