Description
The Mandrarossa Cavadiserpe red wine is an excellent example of the excellent quality achieved by Sicilian viticulture, a leading player on the international scene with ever-increasing awareness. In this context, the Mandrarossa winery stands out for its successful combination of professionalism, passion for tradition, and capacity for innovation. Its vineyards extend across the hills of Menfi, in the Agrigento province: a precious terroir, capable of giving Sicily great wines. The mild climate, favorably influenced by the proximity of the sea, sees abundant and constant sunshine, corresponding to significant nighttime temperature variations. The warm southern winds contribute significantly to the healthiness of the grapes. More specifically, the calcareous soil of the Cavadiserpe district is ideal for the cultivation of the Alicante Bouschet, a vigorous grape, rich in anthocyanins, widespread in Spain and France. The success of Mandrarossa Cavadiserpe lies precisely in its blend, composed of 40% Merlot grapes and 60% Alicante Bouschet: a skillfully innovative blend that results in a sumptuous, harmonious, and intense wine. The firm, pruinose skins of the Merlot and Alicante are macerated for 8-10 days in contact with the must, promoting the release of anthocyanins and tannins. The subsequent phase of maturation in barriques reveals all the wisdom and art of the winery's master winemakers. Indeed, the choice of wood to use, and therefore its characteristics, determines the nuances and aromas the wine will develop. It is therefore not surprising that Mandrarossa Cavadiserpe was awarded the Tre Bicchieri by the Gambero Rosso Italian Wine Guide.
