Description
Still organic white Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore DOC, 13% ABV, produced by Fattoria Nanni. 100% Verdicchio Bianco. 0.75 L bottle, 2022 vintage. A wine born in the heart of the Marche region, in Arsicci (Apiro, Macerata). Spontaneous fermentation on the skins for approximately 18 days without temperature control. Aged with batonnage in stainless steel for 6 months. On the nose, it presents light sensations of fresh grapes, apricot, and broom blossoms, with hints of candied lemon. On the palate, it has a good impact in terms of structure, yet the palate is fresh and generous, with a persistence based more on nuance than power.

"Where I come from there is a mountain that protects the valley and the castles around it. It’s nice to have a little peak in the distance, sharply peaked on one side, a crooked turtle dome, and acting as your beacon when you don’t have the sea. It’s called Monte San Vicino and it also looks beautiful over a large vineyard, and guards it, in the Apiro countryside. From this vineyard was born the wine of the young Fattoria Nannì, all painted by Nina, a green balcony to a lighthouse that is shaped like a rock, and that has been telling us since we were little what the weather will be, what colour the sky will be, all that you can see and not see, and which way you will find the moon." | Story | "The design on the label, of rows of ink and earth, recalls our hills of the Marches, but also the veins of a distant wood; together they enclose the meeting of two realities, in imagination and creation. They are strings of an invented musical instrument, and also a little bit real'. (Francesca Ballarini - @ioenina) |
