Description

Bricco Boschis di Cavallotto is a robust, strong, and powerful Barolo. It matures for over 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels. This red wine is a DOCG produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes from Piedmont. The Cavallotto estate is located just outside Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of Barolo, and extends over 25 hectares. This historic family-run winery is capable of renewing itself while upholding tradition. The winery's soils are rich in flora and fauna and produce grapes with perfect organoleptic characteristics. The vineyards have a south-southwest exposure, good air circulation, and the vines date back to the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. Bricco Boschis di Cavallotto is one of the finest expressions of this corner of the Langhe. Bricco Boschis di Cavallotto is born from a meticulous selection of Nebbiolo vines that give their best here. The grapes, harvested one by one, ferment using only indigenous yeasts and macerate for 18 to 30 days. The maturation process takes place for a minimum of 36 months in oak barrels. The result is a wine with a rich bouquet, where notes of orange peel alternate with those of chocolate, plum, and bark. A warm and dynamic wine to enjoy with friends. Bricco Boschis di Cavallotto is one of the finest expressions of this corner of the Langhe.

At the gates of Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Barolo Zone, on the slopes of the Bricco Boschis, one finds the Cavallotto Winery, which lies on 25 hectares of land. Since 1928, the Cavallotto family has owned the estate Tenuta Bricco Boschis. In 1946, they were the first cultivators in Castiglione Falletto to vinify all of their estate’s fruit. In 1948 they released the first bottling of their own BAROLO wine, with the label and registered trademark of Cavallotto.

Today the children of Olivio – Laura, Giuseppe and Alfio, the 4th generation working the family farm – continue to exclusively vinify the grapes produced in their estate vineyards into DOC and DOCG wines: Barolo, Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, Langhe Freisa, Langhe "Grign" made from Grignolino grapes, Langhe Chardonnay and "Pinner" made from Pinot Nero grapes.
