Description
A still white wine from the heart of Tuscany, produced by Castello Pomino - Frescobaldi, 13.5% ABV, 100% Chardonnay, 2023 vintage. A wine born in a hidden gem among the Frescobaldi estates, at 700 meters above sea level. The grapes are hand-harvested and soft-pressed. Alcoholic and partial malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques, followed by maturation on the lees in wood. Its bouquet is delicate and persistent, with notes of orange blossom, magnolia, and broom that give way to citrus and candied fruit aromas. The finish is long and persistent, with a structure confirmed by the alcoholic note, perfectly balanced and harmonized by the freshness.

The castle dates back to the 1500s and is well-known for its excellent location. However, the most significant testimony dates back to 1716, when Grand Duke Cosimo III de' Medici identified the four most suitable territories in Tuscany for producing Quality Wines.
The document, considered the forerunner of modern DOCs, lists the Pomino land along with Chianti, Carmignano and Val d'Arno di Sopra.
Since that date, the wines of Castello Pomino have won many awards: they were awarded in 1873 at the Universal Exhibition in Vienna and in 1878 won the Gold Medal at the Paris Expo, the highest international recognition at the time.

| Wine making | Once grapes arrive in the wine factory, they are gently pressed to extract the clear must, which is further clarified after cold decantation. The musts thus obtained are placed in barriques, 50% new and 50% first-passage, where they undergo alcoholic fermentation and only partially malolactic fermentation. |
