Description
The Barbera d'Alba Conca Tre Pile is produced in the Aldo Conterno cellars, founded in 1969 on the family's 19th-century estate. Aldo Conterno's ancestors, also winemakers, managed to bring the small company to produce wine both nationally and in the Americas, thanks to a relative who emigrated to Argentina years earlier. To satisfy market demands, they decided to create a Barolo that would be vaunted for its qualities, to be produced only in the best vintages and that would have great longevity. After a few years in the United States, Aldo decided to create Poderi Aldo Conterno, purchasing the Favot estate, also in Monforte d'Alba, in the town of Bussia in the heart of the Barolo region.
Following rigorous family tradition, the company has standards of excellence and the red wines follow a careful vinification and are neither clarified nor filtered. An example of the company's passion and quality is the Poderi Aldo Conterno Barbera d'Alba Conca Tre Pile, produced with 100% Barbera grapes in a calcareous-clayey soil perfect for the production of well-structured, long-lived wines. Harvested in the first week of October, only the best grapes are carefully selected and harvested manually according to tradition. They are then vinified in red with maceration of the skins in stainless steel tanks. The must remains in contact with the skins for approximately 8-10 days at a controlled temperature of 26/28°C before being refined in steel tanks, and frequently racked, for several months. Before being released for sale, it rests for several months in wood to acquire aromas and longevity.
