Description

What kind of wine is it

Vincent Brochet Champagne Blanc de Blanc Chardonnay Nature is a sparkling wine that expresses the pure character of the grape variety. Crafted using the Traditional Method, this Brut Nature with zero dosage presents a straw yellow colour and a fine perlage. On the nose, Chardonnay reveals fruity aromas intertwined with white flowers and delicate pastry notes. On the palate, it is dry, supported by a pronounced acidity that ensures excellent palate cleansing. Its liveliness makes it ideal to pair with starters, shellfish, sushi, and soft cheeses. It is recommended to serve it between 6 and 8°C.

Where does it come from

This wine originates from Écueil, in the renowned Montagne de Reims, a historic area of Champagne. The Vincent Brochet winery operates with the dedication typical of an independent winemaker. The company philosophy is based on an approach aimed at bringing out the authentic personality of the terroir. Vineyard management, carried out according to organic and sustainable practices, encourages the development of grapes rich in identity. The Champagne produced in this specific context enhances the local soil and climate conditions, resulting in a direct and rigorous territorial expression.

How is it produced

The Chardonnay grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. Vinification involves an initial spontaneous fermentation in old oak barrels, activated exclusively by indigenous yeasts. The wine matures for nine months on the lees in barrel, acquiring complexity and structure. The secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Traditional Method, preserving the original freshness. The absence of dosage defines an essential profile, resulting in a sparkling wine that enhances the raw material with absolute aromatic precision.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 1721 on the Montagne de Reims, the Vincent Brochet winery expresses the true essence of the independent winemaker. This Champagne Brut Nature, made from fully ripened Chardonnay grapes, embodies an ancestral production philosophy that fully enhances the terroir. Fermentation takes place in old oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, ensuring a vibrant freshness without the addition of sugars. The careful nine-month ageing on the lees gives a fine perlage and marked liveliness, making it perfect for those seeking an artisanal Champagne.

I choose a simple and ancestral winemaking. I have the wish to reveal the personality of each terroir, grape or year : « years go by and are not alike ». Grapes are picked at high maturity to avoid adding sugar for the fermentation. The whole fermentation takes place in old oak barrels; wood comes from the Mountain of Reims. Fermentation starts spontaneously thanks to natural yeast in the must (indigen yeasts). Second fermentation is controlled in order to preserve freshness and vivacity to the wine. Then wine matures (ripens) 9 months on lees in barrels till the bottling. Our aim is to sublimate what the Nature gave to us ! (Gaspard Brochet) Read more
