Description

What type of spirit it is

Panarea Island Gin by Inga is an Italian Distilled Gin made from a grain alcohol base, characterised by a vibrant Mediterranean botanical profile. Departing from conventional dry styles, this spirit is expertly reinforced with a double concentrate of juniper to ensure a structured taste. The recipe blends zesty lemon, myrtle berries, and coriander with basil, rosemary, and sea salt. Crystal-clear and bottled at 44% ABV, the palate is smooth and rounded, uplifted by fresh citrus notes and gentle spice. Produced without artificial flavours, it delivers a clean, precise juniper-led finish.

Where it comes from

Produced in Piedmont by Inga, this spirit is a tribute to the family’s Sicilian roots and Panarea, the smallest island of the Aeolian archipelago. The Mediterranean raw materials are sourced directly from the island, establishing a strong connection with the local coastal vegetation. These botanicals infuse the gin with distinctive citrus notes, myrtle, and aromatic herbs, seamlessly supported by a light saline touch. Drawing upon a family distilling heritage dating back to 1838, the recipe captures a balanced island profile while maintaining technical precision.

History and Heritage

Crafted by the Inga family to honour their Sicilian roots, Panarea Island Gin celebrates an Italian distilling heritage dating back to 1838. Produced in Piedmont using a closely guarded recipe, this spirit departs from traditional dry styles to serve as a historical tribute to the smallest of the Aeolian Islands.

From this winery
  • Start up year: 1832
The distillery Lorenzo Inga carries on a long family tradition of distillers: Gaetano Inga, originally from Noto, began working in 1832 in Serravalle Scrivia and the art of distillation was handed down for five generations.

The Inga family specializes in the production of gin, grape vines, bitter, limoncello, sambuca, amaretto and other alcoholic specialties.
Experience, tradition and research today find a new and interesting accomplishment in the Lorenzo Inga Selection line, which has made it possible to make world-wide known the unmatched softness, the precious perfumes and the flavor of the time of the grappas and liqueurs of the family.

One of the distillery's flagships is certainly Panarea Island Gin, a botanical gin characterized by myrtle and citrus aromas and an elegant and delicate character. The name "Panarea" was thought to be a homage to both the Sicilian origins of the Inga family and their rich cultural heritage, and to the homonymous island, the pearl of the Aeolian, where many of the botanical essences that are involved in the complexity of this gin grow.
