Description
What kind of wine it is
The Barbaresco Rio Sordo Riserva by Produttori del Barbaresco is a still red wine that expresses the authenticity of Nebbiolo. It displays a garnet red colour and an aromatic profile characterised by notes of plum, tobacco, spices and liquorice. On the palate, it stands out for its lively acidity and structured tannins, offering an elegant sip predisposed to a long evolution over time.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Piedmont, in the renowned Rio Sordo vineyard located in the municipality of Barbaresco. The vine roots delve into clay-limestone soils with sandy veins, a geological composition that promotes extreme finesse and a pronounced flavour profile. Its belonging to this famous Piedmontese denomination guarantees a faithful expression of the territory and a marked vocation for reds of great character.
How it is produced
After a manual harvest, the must ferments in steel at a controlled temperature. The process involves a period on the skins with frequent pump-overs for optimal phenolic extraction. Maturation takes place for thirty-six months in large oak barrels, followed by a final rest to stabilise the aromas and perfectly integrate the complex structure.
