Description
What kind of wine it is
Mediterra by Poggio al Tesoro is a Tuscan red wine of great character, created from a harmonious blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. It appears a ruby red colour with violet highlights. On the nose, there are intense notes of blackberry and plum, enhanced by herbal nuances and white pepper. On the palate, it offers a balanced structure and smooth drinkability, finishing with a slightly oaked finish that complements grilled meats and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the heart of Bolgheri, in Castagneto Carducci. The grapes ripen in the Le Sondraie vineyard, located on low-altitude coastal slopes. The soils, composed of clay and loose sands, benefit from the mineral complexity brought by the Seggio stream. The natural richness of magnesium and iron in the soil gives the wine a vibrant freshness and a clear aromatic definition, a true reflection of this prestigious region.
How it is produced
Production begins with gentle pressing to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Small separate vinifications are carried out to enhance each individual variety. After fermentation in stainless steel and malolactic fermentation, the wine rests for eight months in second-use barrels, acquiring a pleasant softness. This meticulous method results in a structured red wine suitable for vegan choices, respectful of the original characteristics of the grapes.
