Description
Still organic white wine from the Marche region, 13% ABV, produced by Poderi Mattioli. 100% Verdicchio, 2023 vintage. A Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore that celebrates the history and tradition of a unique terroir. The nose is intensely perfumed, with fragrant, floral, and fruity notes particularly prominent. Notes of acacia and yellow rose, white-fleshed peach, and a distinct almond aroma, typical of the Verdicchio grape, are evident. The finish offers a light vegetal touch. Straw yellow with evident greenish reflections, it is pervaded by excellent luminosity. The flavor is distinguished by the complexity of its aromas, its persistence, and above all by the significant savory character that will determine its longevity and elegance as it ages; the fresh and enveloping finish reveals a pleasant citrus note.

| Story | Near our wine cellar stood, around the 12th century, an ancient villa known as "il castellare de Ylice". The name was probably derived from the Latin word ilex (holm oak), a particular variety of oak widespread in our area. To this day, there is no trace left of this historic villa, but our passion and respect for our territory has led us to pass on the name of that ancient presence. |
