Description

What kind of wine it is

Champagne Arpége Blanc De Blancs 1er Cru Extra Brut by Pascal Doquet enhances the identity of Chardonnay through rigorous organic management. The wine displays a straw yellow hue, enriched with golden highlights and enlivened by a fine, persistent perlage. The aromatic profile is clear, intertwining fruity and floral notes with well-integrated toasted nuances. On the palate, the choice of Extra Brut dosage ensures a dry, clean sip, characterised by vibrant freshness, pronounced minerality and excellent overall balance.

Where it comes from

The grapes are grown in Pascal Doquet's vineyards located in Vertus, at the southern end of the renowned Côte des Blancs. This area, a key part of the Champagne region, is known for its geological features that impart great tension and finesse to the grapes. The agronomic management adopts organic farming practices, promoting viticulture that respects natural rhythms. Thanks to its Premier Cru classification, the area gives the wine a clear territorial character, expressed through deep minerality and precise structure on the palate.

How it is produced

Vinification faithfully follows the principles of the Traditional Method, a cornerstone for defining the quality and complex aromatic structure of the cuvée. The slow ageing on the lees shapes the wine's elegance and ensures excellent ageing potential in the cellar. Served at a temperature between 6 and 8 °C, this sparkling wine best expresses its gustatory tension, pairing perfectly with fish starters, shellfish and selected cheeses, offering a balanced and highly enjoyable combination.

History and Curiosities

Originating from Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs, Pascal Doquet's Arpège Champagne expresses the pure essence of Chardonnay. This elegant Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru is born from a strict adherence to the principles of organic farming. The skilful vinification according to the traditional method and the Extra Brut dosage offer a fresh, mineral and balanced sip, enhanced by an extremely fine perlage. Awarded by international critics and capable of evolving in the cellar for up to ten years, this wine embodies the profound sustainable identity of the Champagne AOC.
