Description
What type of wine it is
The Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Vecchia from the Le Ragnaie winery is a red wine of great prestige and depth. It comes from the renowned Brunello di Montalcino area and is classified as a Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin. This wine is distinguished by its structured and complex profile, capable of expressing the peculiarities of the territory at its best. It presents as elegant and powerful, with a distinct savouriness and high-quality tannins. Ideal for those looking for a wine with long ageing potential, it is vinified with indigenous yeasts and aged in oak barrels.
Where it comes from
This extraordinary wine is born in Montalcino, in the heart of Tuscany, from a historic plot of the estate. The grapes come from the estate's oldest vineyard, located at an altitude of 600 metres. The vines boast an age of over forty years.
How it is produced
The production of this Brunello is based on respect for the raw material and artisanal care. After a careful harvest of the grapes from the old vines, the vinification begins with fermentation in concrete vats, activated exclusively by indigenous spontaneous yeasts. A long and meticulous ageing period follows: the wine rests for three years in large Slavonian oak barrels, where it acquires complexity and harmony. Finally, it ages for a further year in the bottle before being ready for tasting, ensuring a final result of exceptional depth.
