Jermann is the story of a passion that came from far away.
In 1881 Anton Jermann, the founder, left the Austrian wine-growing region of Burgerland and, later, the vines of Slovenia to put down roots in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Here he continued his winery business, and from the 1970s Silvio Jermann's combined genius and imagination took the company to undreamed-of success in wine circles, both in Italy and worldwide.

Today the Jermann estate extends over 150 hectares of which 130 hectares are vineyards and 20 hectares are given over to seed and horticultural crops. This is a company that interacts with the world every day, but its greatest attention is always reserved for the things that make a wine great.

Story The 1991 harvest occurred on the 110th anniversary of Anton Jermann’s arrival in Villanova. Silvio Jermann and his family celebrated this unique occasion by producing for that vintage only, a wine called Piccolo Sogno verso una terra promessa ("Small Dream towards a promised land"), which evoked an ancient heritage and past farming traditions of this soil. Therefore the choice to produce a field blend of local grapes. The label for Piccolo Sogno expressed elements deeply rooted in the farming world: sun, water, grapes embodying the fruit of the soil, fish as religious symbols. The philosophy and vision that went into that 1991 "Small Dream" continues with Capo Martino – a wine combining elegance, structure, complexity and consistency.
