Description
Still red wine from Sicily, produced by Firriato, a company founded in 1984. 1.50 l magnum format, 2018 vintage. A blend of Nero d'Avola and Syrah that best expresses the character of the Sicilian terroir. The grapes come from the Baglio Sorìa estate, in the Trapani countryside. Manual harvest. Nero d'Avola second ten days of September, Syrah first ten days of September. Aged for 8 months in American oak barriques. It presents concentrated and well-defined nuances of morello cherry, berries, rhubarb, cloves, aromatic herbs, and plum, which alternate and intersect with captivating hints of licorice, ink, and tobacco leaves. Dense and deep ruby red with lively violet highlights. Gentle, soft and caressing, it displays its great personality with a strong Mediterranean imprint, combining with admirable harmony a powerful and exuberant texture, extraordinary gustatory vivacity, velvety tannins of rare nobility.
