Description
A still red from Etna, Sicily, 14% ABV, produced by Federico Graziani. Blend: Alicante, Francisi, Nerello Cappuccio, Nerello Mascalese, 2022 vintage. An Etna Rosso that expresses the power of the volcano through a blend of native grape varieties, fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, without temperature control, in open vats. Aged for 30 months in second- and third-passage barriques and tonneaux. Aged for 12 months in bottle. The nose is ample, with notes of currants, blueberries, and raspberries, followed by citrus notes and sweet spices of sandalwood and tobacco. Lingering notes of aromatic herbs, marjoram, capers, and thyme. Ruby red in color, transparent and brilliant. On the palate, it is rich but not round, with a deliberately lively tannic nuance. The finish is complex and lingering, with great personality.

Pairings
For the past 2000 years, people here have been growing vineyards in small plots of land reclaimed from the mountain, living in symbiosis with the volcano and adapting to the power and unpredictability of its elements. This is slow and ancient work, carried out by hand with toil, passion, and respect. Read more
