Description

The name Brunello finds its origins in the way wine is made by the inhabitants of Montalcino, the Ilcinesi. The intensity of the wine's brown colour seems to explain the etymology of the name Brunello.

Since 1978, the South Tyrolean Loacker family has been running its own wineries in South Tyrol, strictly adhering to the principles of biodynamics and homeopathy. This means that in the vineyards of the Loacker estates the use of chemistry has been completely eliminated by using biodynamic and homeopathic preparations in the treatment of the vines. Arnica, for example, is used to repair the damage caused by hail to vines and grapes; Aconitum is used against sudden infections, while Silicea helps to strengthen the structure of leaves and shoots. The aim is to obtain the maximum possible balance of the vine. Nowadays wines made according to natural criteria, unlike in the past, are a guarantee of high quality. The Loackers, who are related to the largest Italian producer of wafers and biscuits 'Loacker', still own three wineries in three different Italian wine regions (Alto Adige, Montalcino, Maremma) with a total area of 45 hectares of vineyards. The wines produced embrace a wide range so that they can conquer all the palates of wine lovers. Read more
