Description
What kind of wine it is
Chateau Ducluzeau Listrac-Medoc is an elegant still red blend, an authentic expression of Bordeaux. Created from a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, it appears in the glass with a deep ruby red colour. On the nose, it releases a rich bouquet, defined by intense notes of ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum, enhanced by sweet spices and cocoa. On the palate, it reveals a full and fresh style, characterised by a smooth structure and velvety tannins. The tasting concludes with a pleasantly spicy persistence.
Where it comes from
This wine is produced in France, in the heart of the prestigious Listrac-Médoc. The particular climate influenced by the Atlantic ensures moderate temperatures that favour the optimal ripening of the grapes, giving the sip an intense fruity component. The estate boasts a family history documented since 1740. Before the current management, the winery was led for three generations by the women of the family, a legacy reflected in the character of the wine, described as reliable and welcoming. Chateau Ducluzeau represents classic Bordeaux expressiveness, capable of offering a rewarding tasting experience.
How it is produced
The production of Chateau Ducluzeau Listrac-Medoc is based on traditional vinification, beginning with careful harvesting aimed at balancing aromatic concentration with the natural freshness of the grapes. The wine matures for twelve months in oak barrels, a technical choice essential for integrating the notes of wood without overpowering the identity of the grape varieties. This meticulous ageing defines the flavour profile, enriched by well-integrated tannins and a harmonious texture. To enhance its qualities and best accompany red meats and mature cheeses, it is recommended to decant for one hour before serving.

Since 1740, Château Ducluzeau has preserved an invaluable heritage in the heart of the Médoc, passed down through three generations of remarkable women. Records show that Chateau Ducluzeau dates back to at least the 1700s when it was owned by a Monsieur du Cluzeau. He sold it to Mademoiselle Hugon, also a Listrac winegrower, who married Monsieur Astien, another winegrower, but this time from Moulis.
On her death, she left the property to their daughter, Marie Louise, who had married Andre Rochette. When Marie Louise died in 1976, she left it to her daughter, Monique Rochette, who was born and lived there until she married my father Jean-Eugène Borie. Chateau Ducluzeau has been in our family since 1740. (Bruno Borie) Read more
