Description
Sweet red passito wine made from Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC, 15.5% ABV, 100% Sangiovese. Produced by Badia a Coltibuono. 0.375 L bottle, 2009 vintage. A Vin Santo that recounts the thousand-year history of Badia a Coltibuono, an abbey that has been producing excellent wines for centuries. The grapes are selected and dried in well-ventilated rooms. Fermentation and aging take place in small, sealed oak barrels stored in rooms exposed to seasonal temperature variations. Aged for 8 years in oak barrels and barriques. The nose is intriguing with hints of dried orange and chestnut honey, followed by cinnamon, saffron, and thyme, on a bed of iodine. Light amber with golden hues. Sweet and enveloping, soft and well-supported by a lively, fresh vein. Persistent.
