Description

From the vineyards of Biancolella di Ponza and Forastera, the Fieno di Ponza is born, in one of the most evocative wine contexts in the world. The wine is characterized by notes of mimosa, broom, cinnamon, lumps, pear and white plum. The taste is fesco, mineral and with intense fruity aromas.

Punta Fieno is one of the few unspoilt places on the island of Ponza. The difficult access by land (40 minutes on foot along a mule track in full Mediterranean scrub) a non-existent landing by sea, which consists of jumping from the boat on the rocks, have preserved this place from mass tourism. The old peasan farmers went there every morning at dawn to cultivate the vineyards, but today there are only a few left: Luigino, Giustino, uncle Aniello and Liberato. To this small group was added Emanuele Vittorio, Neapolitan odontologist, son of Civita Migliaccio, but above all nephew of Benedetto Migliaccio, one of the founders of the Hay.

When in 1734 Charles of Bourbon colonized the island by assigning various plots of land to the Neapolitan settlers in "perpetual emphyteusis", he assigned to Pietro Migliaccio, coming from Ischia, the area of ??the Fieno, which, unlike others that were defined "to forest" "Or" uncultivated ", was already" vine ".

Pietro Migliaccio brought from Ischia the typical vines: Biancolella, Forastera, Guarnaccia, Aglianico and Piedirosso, and these are the ancient vines with a frank foot that Emanuele Vittorio, grandson of Benedetto Migliaccio, has brought back to life, saving them from the brushstrokes that had already invaded the rows.
