Rasciatano

The Tenuta Rasciatano has been producing olive oil and wine for over four centuries, its owners have always cultivated this 300 hectares superb area located in the Murgia area, which benefits from the mild coastal climate and
the soft warmth of the hills favouring the production of top quality olive oil and wine.

In the age-old olive grove excels the "coratina" variety, the whole productive cycle is supervised in every phase, from the blossoming in late spring until the ripening in December when the olives are cropped by means of cutting-edge shake down machines and immediately transferred to the olive oil mill to be pressed the same day.

The experience gained in grape cultivation by the Tenuta owners is prompting Rasciatano to increase in value the wine grape production. In 2005 the historical wine cellar has been renovated with the main aim to make wine from the best selection of grapes from the vineyards relying on a blend among the main local grape varieties, such as Nero di Troia and Montepulciano, with the fine international grape qualities of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay which have found in Rasciatano their natural environment.

The production of olive oil and wine is supervised by the world-wide recognized winemaker Luigi Moio who has praised the varieties of cultivated grapes at Rasciatano making a plan to advance them to a world-wide level of excellence.
