The estate extends through the heart of the Maremma area, in Scansano, and the name is linked to the nearby ancient etruscan site. Sangiovese is the most important grape variety grown in the vineyards, which are set out in two plots close to each other but with very different characteristics. Pian del Dado has a medium-textured soil with an eastern exposure, whereas Colonna-Aquilaia has a northern exposure and a clayey-calcareus soil. These characteristics, together with the organic and biodynamic agriculture methods we use, enhance the personality of our wines.
