Bodega Marañones

Exciting project in San Martin de Valdeiglesias, one of the three sub-areas of the denomination of origin Wines of Madrid bordering Avila and Toledo, at the foot of the confluence of the Sierra de Guadarrama Sierra de Gredos and influenced by the Alberche river (70 km from the capital).

Start with the story of a Leonine lawyer who decided to buy Sierra vineyards and in 2008 mounted a small winery, this is J. Fernando Cornejo associated with a young winemaker, Fernando García Alonso. In this context the aim and philosophy of Marañones is set: (grapes as the main element of the complex process, respect and attention to the soil of the time as differentiators, ecology, honesty, simplicity and cleanliness).

There are 20 hectares of Grenache vineyard, some beautiful red and white Morate vera albillo and muscat wine and range following the village hierarchy of Burgundy wine with mixed plots, single vineyard or place.
