Towards the end of the nineteenth century at Barbaresco the Bianco’s family had vineards and growned athe vine, but it was of Battista Bianco the brave’s decision to put to vinificate own grapes for producing wine and commercialize. The history gave a reason to those who believed in the vine Nebbiolo, Barolo and Barbaresco are growned on quality and prestige on markets of all the world. Franco Bianco and Gabriella Burlotto did the rest, with a wedding that create a unique case in the history of the two wines.

Cerretto’s family begins to costruction of current Castel. With the Triaty of Cherasco (1631) Verduno passes under jurisdiction of Savoia’s home. Part of Castel come to recostruction by Carlo Luigi Caisotti from designed of architect Juvarra and bought in 1838 by Carlo Alberto King of Savoia, entrusting the management of roadholding and of winery at general Staglioni, famous oenologist.

Soil composition The white soil is mainly chalky clay, known as the “Marne di Sant’Agata” (30% sand – 55% clay – 15% limestone).
Harvest The grapes are handpicked , sorting only the best bunches and placing them into a 20 kilos baskets. The harvest took place on first of October.
Wine making The maceration in “tino” (open top wooden vat) lasted for 40 days, with regular punching down of the cap and, at the end of the alcoholic fermentation, we used the traditional technique of the “submerged cap” to continue with a static maceration.
