Selvapiana’s flagship wine, Francesco Giuntini created this wine destined for long aging, to best represent the character and quality of Rufina’s and Selvapiana’s Sangiovese. Bucerchiale was first produced in 1979, young winemaker Franco Bernabei ‘s second vintage at Selvapiana. Bucerchiale is produced only in the best vintages.
Intense ruby red in color.
It offers suave flavors of cherry, red currants and violets, nicely integrated with elegant notes of tobacco, leather and wood. Hints of vanilla and cedar as well as faint spice from oak aging add dimension.
Pure, full-bodied and fleshy, with a solid structure and superfine tannins. The balanced acidity, typical of the wines of Chianti, gives substantial consistency to the juicy texture.

Vinification Vinification in stainless steel at 28°-30° (80°82° Fahrenheit), with all natural yeasts. Frmentation and maceration last for 25 days. Malolactic fermantition takes place immediately after the alcoholic.
Aging Age in small French oak cask of 225 lt.
