Ceuso is the wine that bears the company name and the name of the area where the vineyards stand. Ceuso is a truly accomplished great red, complex and elegant, aged in French oak barriques for twelve months and then bottle refined an addiotional twelve months. Ceuso is a fine wine embodying all the characteristics that make it eminently suitable for long-term ageing.
Deep ruby red.
Rich and concentrated with notes of ripe fruit, currants and hints of leather and chocolate.
Well- integrated tannins with a pleasant freshness and good structure.

History In the local dialect ceuso means mulberry, the plant introduced by the Arabs over a thousand years ago whose leaves are fed to silkworms. Ceuso is the child of the Sicilian indigenous varietal par excellence Nero d'Avola together with two extraordinary international varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Plants n. x hectare 5,000 vines per ha
Yield x hectare 65 quintals; 1,2 kg per vine.

Vinification 14-16 days maceration in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 79 °F
Aging 12 months in small French oak barrels medium toasted (30% new). 4 months in glass-lined cement tanks and 12 months of bottle refinement.
