Description
Giallo d'Arles is an extreme and rigorous interpretation of Greco di Tufo. It is produced exclusively with grapes from a single Greco vineyard. Its antique yellow-gold colour, typical of the appellation, is rendered even more intense by the brief period of fermentation in small oak barrels and the complete absence of clarification. It is a white wine with a red, powerful, refined structure, characterised by a deep minerality fused with notes of apricot and quince jam and a full and fresh taste. It also has an extraordinary aptitude for bottle ageing, gaining in elegance, complexity and harmony as the years pass. The name given to the wine is a tribute to Van Gogh's favourite colour during his time in Arles: a yellow prelude to red.

This new vision of wine significantly strengthened me, a passion I began to experience with great enthusiasm. When I returned to Italy in July 1994, the urge to do was unstoppable, and as time went by, I felt an ever more vital need, both intimate and inner, for a space of my own where I could freely express my creativity, my ideas and my love for wine. Finally, in 2001, together with the extraordinary passion of my wife Laura, the dream began to take shape, giving life to an actual 'life project' that gradually led to the birth of Quintodecimo. Today, Quintodecimo is a handkerchief of land nestled in the green Irpinia region of Campania, where, in joyful harmony with nature and its enjoyment, Laura and I have realised the fantastic dream of living in the vineyard we planted, with the strong ambition of giving life to great wines that are the purest expression of the crus of origin.
