It expresses a refined profile, with notes of pear and ripe peach, hints of acacia, white flowers and tropical fruit. On the palate, it reveals a smooth and persistent structure, balanced by a vibrant freshness that culminates in a savoury and mineral finish. It pairs perfectly with fish-based dishes, fried seafood, vegetable soups and cheeses.

Where it comes from

The grapes are grown in the Roero Arneis territory, on the left bank of the Tanaro river. The vineyards, situated at an altitude of approximately two hundred and eighty metres, boast vines over thirty-five years old with varied exposures on the hillsides. The strength of this area lies in its sandy soils, rich in fossil deposits and limestone. This geological matrix gives the wine a remarkable expressive finesse and that distinct minerality that defines its character.

How it is produced

The manual harvest takes place in September, followed by destemming and soft pressing of the Arneis grapes. The must undergoes a short cold maceration and fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. Ageing for six months on the lees imparts roundness and breadth to the palate, before a final rest of three months. In the glass, it presents a bright straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections.

History and facts

Since 1890, the Giovanni Rosso family has been cultivating vines in Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of Barolo.
