The early 1900s were marked by a period of crisis, which led to the closure of the winery for 100 years, thus ending production of Brooklyn Gin Small Batch. Only recently has the winery restarted production of gin, using exclusively raw materials from surrounding areas: sugar cane, juniper berries, and fresh citrus peel. Gin is made using ancient production techniques. Brooklyn Gin Small Batch is matured in small copper vats, allowing the gin to absorb flavors and aromas evenly and compactly. A perfect example of the art of American mixology, where precision and the right amount of raw materials are key aspects of gin production. Gin creators Emil Jättne and Joe Santos used fresh citrus peel, not dried or frozen, to enhance the gin's fruity flavor. The actual distillation process does not take place in the Big Apple, but in a location further north, specifically at the Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery, near the Hudson Valley.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0652/6789/2395/files/brooklyn-gin-small-batch_12094_1_71f81689-c0df-4191-a919-2968b4b1b279.webp?v=1773666571
