The close-knit duo carried the company forward, making it gain fame and expanding the vineyards. The estate's revival, however, occurred when \u003cstrong\u003eJacques\u003c\/strong\u003e, Joseph's nephew, and his cousins managed to export the brand across the Channel, always maintaining the \u003cstrong\u003epowerful\u003c\/strong\u003e family bond that guides them. The name Special Cuvée comes from an idea of a British agent who thought the term \u003cstrong\u003eSpecial\u003c\/strong\u003e was more appropriate than \"\u003cstrong\u003eBrut sans année\u003c\/strong\u003e\" which seemed too rough. More \u003cstrong\u003e85%\u003c\/strong\u003e of the grapes come from \u003cstrong\u003eGrand\u003c\/strong\u003e Cru grape varieties, while the remainder are Premier Cru. In the cellar, the quality and attention to detail is maximum, the primary fermentation takes place in \u003cstrong\u003esmall\u003c\/strong\u003e steel and \u003cstrong\u003ewooden\u003c\/strong\u003e barrels, where the must remains until spring in the underground walls made of \u003cstrong\u003echalk\u003c\/strong\u003e.
